Laurie DeGraffenreid is a 1979 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Her early formative years in the oil and gas industry began with a title brokerage firm in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her on the ground skills doing land work with that brokerage firm eventually led to a position with Texas Oil and Gas Company, where she assisted the company in all areas of curative land work.
Mrs. DeGraffenreid's experience in land titles and curative led to a three-year position with a real estate law firm. Thereafter, she moved to a seven-year position with the Oil and Gas Section of Blanchard, Walker, O’Quinn, where she assisted in all areas of land title. She was eventually recruited by Ergon Exploration Company for work in East Texas where she researched title, negotiated leases, supervised crews, and maintained the Tyler office of the Jackson, Mississippi-based firm. What was initially expected to be a three-month projected evolved into a 20-year tenure.
Mrs. DeGraffenreid’s career has covered all aspects of land work and she has brought this experience and work ethic to Petry & Sinex (now Petry, Rosie & Sinex) since 2017, where she assists in all aspects of title examination, curative, and preparation of Divisions of Interest for client needs.
