About KELLY PETRY

Kelly Petry has been the firm's practice manager since 2016 and provides support in the review of title matters, drafting of title opinions, and preparing divisions of interest. She graduated with a dual degree from the UT School of Law and LBJ School of Public Affairs in 2000.

Her legal career began with the Texas Senate, where she was first-level legal review for Senate bills in the 2001 legislative session. Thereafter, she worked with the Texas State Auditor’s Office as a staff auditor and audited various state and local government programs. In 2003, she was employed by NASA (Johnson Space Center) as a program analyst, where she managed the Safety & Mission Assurance program contract.

In 2005, she transitioned to “domestic engineer” – her grandmother’s phrase for managing the home and family – as she and Mr. Petry welcomed the first of their three children. She worked in this capacity until 2014, when she returned to the legal world by assisting and managing Mr. Petry’s transactional oil and gas practice.

Since then, she has used her audit and legal background to assist clients in all areas of title examination, including analyses for divisions of interest and flagging issues related to title defects.
