Susan A. Stanton is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained both her M.A. and B.A., and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Alpha Delta. She is 1992 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the Order of Barons, as well as Managing Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law.
Prior to law, she began her career as General Manager and then Manager of Research Department for an offshore oil and gas consulting company that provided newsletter, wire service, market research and consulting services for offshore oil and gas exploration, development and production activity. She was the editor and compiler of the first published directory of mobile drilling rigs worldwide.
Susan provides substantive support to her clients in many areas of property law. Specifically, she provides support for energy title; sales, acquisition and financing; commercial and residential real estate; leasing sales and acquisitions; and homeowners association and deed restriction transactions. Among other projects, she has provided support for multiple acquisitions of real property for assisted living facilities in seven (7) states by multi-state developers, the acquisition (75%) and lease capitalization (25%) of 125 communication tower sites and facilities in eight (8) states by national telecommunications company, and multiple acquisitions of apartment complexes in Texas for redevelopment.
She has published numerous articles on real property matters and is a member of the Real Estate and Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Sections, State Bar of Texas; Women in Commercial Real Estate, dba CREW Houston (past Treasurer and Board Member); Briargrove Park Property Owners Association (Vice President and Board Member); and Women in Real Estate and Finance.
