Kelly Petry has been working with Scott as a practice manager since 2014, primarily assisting with review of oil and gas title matters, drafting title opinions, and preparing divisions of interest for client projects. She also directs office support activities for Petry, Rosie & Sinex P.L.L.C, managing activities, task scheduling and internal processes. Mrs. Petry graduated from the UT School of Law/LBJ School of Public Affairs in 2000.

Her first job out of law school was with the Texas Senate, in the Office of Engrossing and Enrolling, where she was first-level legal review for all bills filed in the Senate for the 2001 legislative session. In 2001, she continued her career in government and went to the Texas State Auditor’s Office, where she worked as a staff auditor for two years, auditing various state and local government programs on financial management and implementation of policy goals. In 2003, she moved to Houston to work at NASA – Johnson Space Center as a program analyst, where she managed the Safety & Mission Assurance program contract.

In 2005, however, Mrs. Petry elected to transition to a “domestic engineer” – her grandmother’s phrase for managing the home and family – as she and Mr. Petry welcomed the first of their three children. She worked in this capacity until 2014, when she returned to the legal world by assisting and managing Mr. Petry’s transactional oil and gas practice.

Since then, she has used her audit and legal background to assist clients in all areas of title examination, including the setup and analyses for divisions of interest and flagging issues related to title defects. She likewise brings her financial management skills to Petry, Rosie & Sinex as the practice manager.
