OIL AND GAS REGULATORY

Petry Rosie & Sinex handles various oil and gas regulatory matters involving the Railroad Commission of Texas. Our representation involves advising clients on lease line spacing and density issues, permitting matters, proration and allowable issues, allocation wells, production sharing agreements, and general advice on matters related to field rules, enforcement actions, and plugging and abandonment of wells. We also represent our clients in various regulatory hearings before the Commission. Many of our Houston based clients appreciate the ability to meet and personally discuss Railroad Commission regulatory issues, rather than having to travel to Austin to meet with counsel.

Further, our clients appreciate the firm's advice on matters involving the effects of the Railroad Commission's rules and regulations on contractual matters. In our industry, it is not uncommon to encounter oil and gas leases that incorporate the rules of the "governmental authority having jurisdiction". However, understanding the effects of the regulatory structure upon leasehold matters is critical and failure to do so can lead to unintended consequences. Petry Rosie & Sinex provides its clients with the background necessary to understand the nuances of the Commission's rules and to draft around the pitfalls that may occur because of said nuances.
